(AG=94) Bright red. Strawberry, red cherry, crushed violet, and roast coffee on the enticing nose. Sexy, savory and sweet, with terrific energy and purity to the sappy red fruit and marzipan flavors; this reminded me of a fresh red fruit cocktail. Finishes long and sweet, with good grip but not especially tannic for Amarone (typically, the 2009 vintage gave gentler, rounder, creamier Amarone wines). Mainly Corvina with a little Croatina and Oseleta that were picked in late September and air-dried until January. A delicious, almost feminine Amarone that I found hard not to gulp down one glass right after another. (WS=94) Shows a fine marriage between Amarone's more traditional and modern styles. A fresh, medium- to full-bodied red, framed by chalky tannins, this offers a mix of wild herb and underbrush notes, pure, crushed black cherry and pomegranate fruit, tarry mineral and accents of citrus peel, mocha and spice that linger on the well-defined finish. Best from 2018 through 2030. 500 cases made.
