(AG=89) This is the first Barolo I have tasted from Luca Bosio, and it is a promising effort. A big, strapping wine, the 2011 offers notable concentration. A blast of black plum, black cherry, smoke, licorice, game and tobacco make a strong opening statement. The 2011 is massive and virile to the core, with huge tannins, but it certainly is not lacking in personality. Far from an easygoing 2011, this Barolo needs time.
