(JS=92) Smells of violets and blueberries with hints of cassis. The palate has a thread of salted licorice, some lightly toasty oak warmth and smooth, fluid, gently grainy tannins. Best from 2021. (RP=87) Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Les Gravieres has cedar chest and red and black plums on the nose with wafts of yeast extract and tobacco. The medium-bodied palate is very firm and chewy with the oak poking through on the finish. (WS=86) Dark plum and cherry paste flavors are inlaid liberally with tobacco leaf and roasted cedar notes. Direct, but a little shy on freshness in the end. Drink now. 2,500 cases made.
