At the same time the Paradis remains incredibly light on its feet and totally gracious. Sweet floral notes add lift to this bright, perfumed, totally beautiful Rose Champagne. The balance of power and finesse is striking. The 2006 is 58% Chardonnay and 42% Pinot Noir. Going forward the Paradis Rose will be vintage-labeled for greater clarity. Bright strawberry, raspberry and toasty lees on the intensely perfumed nose, with a seductive note of potpourri gaining power with air. Sappy, spice-accented red fruit flavors are energized by zesty blood orange and white pepper nuances, with a note of buttered toast adding depth. Plays power off vivacity on the precise, smoky, very long finish.
